Lewis Belt is an Oakland-born stand-up comedian, actor, and producer — and one of the most influential young voices emerging from the West Coast comedy scene. A rising star under 35, Lewis has built a devoted fanbase through his high-energy live shows, viral online presence, and his iconic alter-ego Sonniebo, a character widely embraced as a cultural mascot for Oakland and the Bay Area.

Lewis first broke through online with millions of views across his Sonniebo sketches, sharp storytelling, and raw Bay Area authenticity. His momentum carried him onto MTV’s Are You The One? (Season 7), and he has since grown into a national touring headliner, consistently selling out clubs from California to the East Coast.

His comedy catalog features multiple hit specials. His newest hour-long special, On Mommas (2025), released independently on YouTube, surpassed 100,000 views in its first month. This follows the success of Raised By OG’s Not IG, which earned over 500,000 independent views, and his debut special Rookie of the Year — filmed at Boogie’s Comedy Slam inside Oakland’s historic Paramount Theatre — which became the #1 stand-up special on Amazon in 2020.

Lewis has also appeared on screen in So Dumb It’s Criminal with Snoop Dogg on Peacock and the 2023 House Party film produced by LeBron James’ SpringHill Company and New Line Cinema, now streaming on Hulu.

In 2025, Lewis launched a monthly residency at Wiseguys Comedy Club in Las Vegas, marking a new chapter in his live expansion while continuing to produce shows nationwide.

His brand presence continues to grow. Lewis recently hosted a Jordan Brand All-Star Weekend event, performing as both himself and Sonniebo alongside top artists and athletes. He also co-starred with Marshawn Lynch in an Amazon commercial airing throughout 2025.

Meanwhile, his alter-ego Sonniebo is evolving into a fully developed entertainment brand of its own — including official music distribution through Empire, one of the largest independent labels in the world.
